Memorable events
Faithfully to the martyrs of the trade unionist struggle and in memory of their national and social struggle, the Union and the workers in Tunisia remember the following historical events every year:
- 20th of January: the foundation of the Union
- 26th of January: general strike, the death of great number of workers
- First of May: the international feast of work
25th of June: memorial of the death of Ahmed Tlili
- 5th of August: the events of the 5th of august 1947 in Sfax : a general strike, the death of a large number of workers and the capture of the leader Habib Achour
- 21st of November: memorial of Enfidha events (21st of November 1950) : strike of the agriculture workers and bloody confrontations with the colonizing forces.
- 5th of December: memorial of the assassination of Farhat Hached (5th of December 1952)
